Mini-Tubs

All updates on my Duster can now be
found in our tech forums, MoparTech.net!

Here is the process I used to enlarge the rear wheel tubs to handle the larger tire/wheel combination that I wanted.  I got most of the information from BigBlockDart.com and I pretty much went from there.  If you need any tips or have any questions about doing this to your Mopar, feel free to email me.

This is the wheel-well in it's stock, uncut form.  Before I started, I drilled out the spot-welds on the trunk hinge mounts and also the flange on the front of the package tray. I have it cut out here and still have to remove the flange that is between where the wheel-well was and the frame.  It's about a 2 inch wide strip.
This shows the gap that you have before you start filling it in.  It's a considerable amount, when you consider the springs are moved inboard also. I used some adjustable C-clamp style vise-grips to hold everything in place while I tack-welded it in.
Here's the "almost finished" product.  I still have to fill in some of the gaps where I went a little too big on my cutting.  No big deal, I can tack some metal in there.
