Mike Wilcox's 1972 Plymouth Duster

  Here's my 1972 Duster. It's plum crazy purple with a flat-black 6-pack hood and a white 340 stripe.  (body done by me and my cousin Rich Wilcox, painting done by Rich Wilcox)

          ENGINE:
 

  • 340 - bored .030 over
  • Stock crank
  • Stock rods
  • TRW pistons with 11 to 1 compression
  • MP 292/.508 hydraulic cam (switching to a solid with a lift of around .550-.600)
  • X-heads - ported and polished with big valves (putting on roller rockers)

    FUEL / AIR / EXHAUST:
     
  • Headers with 3"exhaust
  • 750 Holley DP
  • M-1 single plane intake

    IGNITION / ELECTRICAL:
     
  • N/A

    TRANSMISSION:
     
  • 727 Torqueflite (built by my friend Randy Juliano)
  • Turbo Action reverse valve body
  • Champion 8" 4000 converter


    REAR END:
     
  • 8 3/4 with 4:10's (trading for some 4:56's) and

    CHASSIS:
     
  • 15x3-1/2 Weld Pro-Stars in the front
  • 15x8 in the back
  • 26x4-1.2 MT frontrunners
  • 28x11.5 Hoosier QuickTime Pro's
